Andria grew up in the North of England. She is a member of a large family with a long tradition of gardening. Always an adventurer, she spent a season running a small restaurant in Saas Fee, Switzerland before living in and truly experiencing Southern France. She came to Dallas Texas in 1977 to explore the new World. Not surprisingly, she has gardened here too and was amazed when her first Texas garden was described as “a real English Garden!” Her interest led her to become a Master Gardener with the Dallas County agricultural Extension Service. She is keen to share her knowledge and love of gardens as you tour the beautiful gardens of her childhood.

The Curious Traveler Inc is Andrias’ newest and very successful venture. Check out her latest tours at www.TheCuriousTraveler.com.

The Little Owl at 90 Bedford Street in the West Village is a restaurant success story. A small place with excellent service and terrific food in a charming space-the owners make everything appear so simple that you may be tempted to launch your own little cafe. But wait, there's some magic going on here. Service has just the right balance of warmth and city cool and the menu has been honed to a small but wide selection of great dishes.

Get out, explore, and spend your precious dollars on something memorable before the government finds a way to spend them.

The Good News Girlz really have the right idea. Once you have educated your children it is time to take care of yourself and gain some fresh ideas and new experiences to enjoy as you reach old age! If you prefer to do this with some stimulating company please look at the tours that I'm taking in 2012.

At this moment I am in the process of redefining the way I live.  This is the time to make changes.  For a start I am leaving Dallas, placing distance between myself and my much loved friends and family and moving to Europe to start a new page in my life.

I have disposed of my house and my furniture although I am still left with a container full of "things dear to me".

It is hard to believe that I am in the center of a great city.

I'm standing at the head of White Rock Lake at 7.30am.  The reflection of the bright sun across the water is almost blinding, but the wooded walks allow me to take in this glorious morning.

Looking for something new for your vacation this year? Try your hand at volunteering with the National Trust for a different sort of holiday. This summer I've been taken on as a volunteer at Attingham Park, an 18th Century mansion run by the National Trust. Its location near Shrewsbury in Shropshire is heaven after the heat in Dallas.

My trip to buy a house in France did not end with me actually buying a house, but the lessons I learned along the way were numerous.

Do you too find it difficult to make a decision?

For me it is agony and yet after a wonderful life, the result of many a difficult decision making crisis, surely I should know better.

I should have learned that it is not the decision, but how I live by that decision and I how let it shape my life.

After a month of close acquaintance with the Little Black Dress, the Good News Girlz can tell you: The LBD is more than a garment, it's a phenomenon. Although discreet black dresses had been worn for generations of women, they were mostly funeral attire and even considered slightly indecent if worn at other times.

I read your recent article on low cost holidays. The Fort Worth trip sounds lovely, but it’s possible to take a trip abroad still watch your costs. The good news is there’s a whole summer ahead and you can have a blast with the dollar at $1.60 to the British pound.
