“Good News Girlz” Launches

as Hot New Dallas Social Network
Wednesday, September 9th, 2009
DALLAS [September 9, 2009] – Good News Girlz today announced its formal launch as Dallas’ hot, new social network that blends the online and face-to-face worlds. Good News Girlz promotes happy and healthy lifestyles and helps people focus on what’s good as a way of life.

“Good News Girlz isn’t just a social network and informational source; it’s a way of life,” said Harriet Kelly, Good News Girlz co-founder. “Good News Girlz promotes happy, healthy lifestyles and actively connects people through online and face-to-face social networking. We find and deliver cutting-edge content that links emerging trends with living a full and good life. And good news leads to good living.”

A study conducted at the University of Pittsburgh of 100,000 women over an eight-year period showed that women with positive thoughts are significantly healthier. One researcher noted “The majority of evidence suggests that sustained, high degrees of negativity are hazardous to health.”

With no membership requirements, Good News Girlz is a unique hybrid social network of more than 600 members. It provides people with two primary networking tools, with each focusing on the positive lifestyle aspects of fashion, health and wellness, books, wine and current events:

· www.GoodNewsGirlz.com content focuses on what’s good as a way of life. A lively mix of formats, including articles, videos and podcasts, address relevant, timely lifestyle topics. Members are encouraged to submit their own stories or comment on other content.

· Good News Girlz events at hot Dallas locations. Events include guest speakers and programs on intriguing topics that appeal to varying interests to inspire, empower, uplift and inform Good News Girlz. See the events list for details.

With the option to participate on-line, at face-to-face events or both, Good News Girlz provides easy access to networking to help members avoid isolation.

“I’m not a great supporter of most social networks, which I think are pretty narcissistic. However, Good News Girlz is a concept that embraces the self without glorifying it,” said Amy Klion, a Good News Girlz member and independent non-profit management professional. “In fact, the message is more about inclusion and connection rather than self-aggrandizement and the mundane. It’s an exciting adventure that has huge potential appeal to a broad audience. We all need to smile more.”

Good News Girlz are busy women who are engaged in the community and want to have an impact in the world. They are passionate about serving their communities and learning new ways to embrace the best life has to offer – all with a good, clean, sexy and fun twist.

Four successful Dallas women founded Good News Girlz: Harriet Kelly (formerly Gibbe) is a writer/producer of shows and documentaries, has an extensive background in fashion, modeling and acting. Karla Barber has over 20 years technology management experience and was recently reborn as a sommelier and wine educator. Judy Dedmon Coyle, a writer of fiction and nonfiction, is a certified health counselor, having spent her early career in finance and law. Tamara Mattison brings expertise in business, accounting and law.
