2005 Margaux LaBastide Dauzac - Bordeaux
On a recent trip to France my friend, Andria, and I decided to do some wine research on our last night out. We chose Margaux LaBastide Dauzac 2005, a very drinkable blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot grapes.
Andria assured me that a good Bordeaux doesn't give you a hangover. It must be true because we had to drink quite a lot to do this wine note.
We loved the smooth aromas of velvety chocolate and dark berry. The taste was of caramel and cocoa with a full mouth feel and an excellent, slightly spicy finish.
The good news is that you don't have to go all the way to France to find this wine, though I strongly recommend that you do. Bottles can be found at Laurentiwines.com for under $30.00. We paid less in France so you may want to book your trip now.
