comerica event
Good News Girlz and Comerica rocked the bank last Thursday night with Fashion, Finances and Fun! As the first event held in Comerica's new Preston Center bank lobby, it showcased spring fashions from Tootsies and Men's Wearhouse, and entertained and enlightened our members with more than just good news.

Comerica Bank's Lorua Johnson emphasized the importance of planning in case of emergencies.  Making sure your heirs can access cash and assets in the event of death can make a big difference in how they cope.  Children left behind can get to funds more quickly if parents set up Payable On Death accounts naming them as beneficiaries.

Jennifer Miller, voted by D Magazine the best DJ in Dallas, set the tone for highlighting this season's fashion trends. Comerica employees Lorua Johnson, Jeff Wooldridge, and Kellie Jo Tibbets along with Good News Girlz Gwenna Brush, Ros Miller, Sara Munroe, Erica Taylor, Susan Via, and Catherine Weekley strutted their stuff across the bank lobby. Gorgeous Aussie model, Rob added a professional spin to the evening.

Spring styling notes from the fashion show included:

Ruffles, mixed neutrals, mix and match graphic black and white.

Dresses or all sorts: one shoulder, soft lines, fitted, mixed colors, LBDs, ruffles, painted fabrics

Bloomers, pants and shorts all rolled up.

Raspberry and greens, especially when paired with the new grey.

And, to deal with April showers, trench coats in both classic design and with trendy trim

Jonathan Hayden, Art Institute student, wowed us all with sketches of attendees in his amazing fashion designs. Several lucky members won door prizes, including gift certificates from Shea's True Beauty, Tootsie's, and Men's Wearhouse, a Good News Girlz t-shirt, and floral arrangements from In-Bloom florists. Everyone left with fabulous goody bags that held iPod shuffles from Comerica Bank and memories of probably the best time they ever had in a bank lobby.
