Day 22 - The Essence Of the LBD

In the Burgundy region
Tuesday, January 5th, 2010
Today we drove through the lovely towns and villages of the Rhone Valley and into Burgundy. Everything was covered in snow until we reached Macon and then there was nothing at all. It didn't diminish slowly--there was a lot of snow and then none at all. It was beautiful, but too cold to take off my coat for a snapshot so you'll have to take my word for it.
l'alambic

We'll be near Dijon for two nights and then move into town to be near the train station for our quick trip into Paris on Thursday morning. We're currently staying in a wonderful little village called Nuits Saint Georges. We ate at L'Alambic, with it's old cellar dining room fitted out with an alambic, which is an old distilling device. The LBD looks particularly nice against the shiny copper. I wore my favorite green sweater for style and warmth. My boots were chosen for warmth. It's very cold out there.
