Day 4-Cranberry Relish
Day 4-French Macaroons
1. Cranberry Relish from Liz Cook
2. French Macarons from Erin Bowser

I figured this recipe out last year and then lost it before Thanksgiving.  Using what I remembered, I think I created a better recipe!  It was a hit with my family with turkey and ham so I'll make it again for Christmas dinner.

I made these macarons for a co-worker's cookout in August. I made two batches: one with vanilla bean buttercream filling, and the other with pink colored cookies and raspberry buttercream. Needless to say, I was harassed for the recipe for weeks after the cookout.
Day 4-African Soup
Day 3-Spritz Cookies

3. African Chicken-Peanut Soup from Penni Sklar and Karen Cortell Reisman

4. Spritz Cookies from Tamara

I'm a virgin... as far as cooking with jalapenos! My parents were European and the strongest seasoning in my home was dill weed. Spicy foods have never been my thing. But, this recipe called for a jalepeno, and I took the plunge. I have never bought one, prepared one, or eaten one! I checked out of the grocery store with one jalepeno that cost 6 cents. I washed it, I bathed it, and I deseeded it. This naked jalapeno added a really nice flavor to this wonderful, hearty recipe given to me by my friend, Penni. Enjoy!

My favorite Christmas cookies are spritz cookies. They not only taste good, but are fun to make with my cookie press. I use almond extract for flavoring, and sprinkles for color. I usually make lots of colors, but this year I'm going with mostly green christmas trees. I generally use the Betty Crocker recipe or the Pampered Chef recipe, with a few tweaks - less sugar, almond and vanilla flavoring, different sugars for decoration.
