Tuesday, October 25th, 2011
Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas will hold its second lecture in the 2011-2012 series on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in partnership with The Dallas Institute for Humanities and Culture.

This lecture is part of the series, "What is a Girl?".  Dr. Scott Churchill will explore the many roles of girls in film, offering images that both delight and disturb with various aspects of the girl-from innocence to experience, from victim to victor. In addition to being an expert on film, Dr. Churchill is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Dallas.  He earned a Bachelor's of Science from Bucknell University in Biology and Pre-med; a Master's of Science in Psychology from Duquesne University; and a Ph.D., in Clinical Phenomenological Psychology also from Duquesne University.

As with all the lectures in this series, Dr. Churchill will present and then lead a discussion with audience members.  "The lecture series has been a resounding success.  We could not have picked a better partner than The Dallas Institute for Humanities and Culture," said Girls Inc. CEO, Lori Palmer.   "The theme, 'What is a girl?' has proven to be as complex a subject as it is a captivating one." Ms. Palmer said.

The lecture will take place at The Dallas Institute for Humanities and Culture located at 2719 Routh Street, Dallas, 75201.  Admission for the lecture is $25.
