It's Complicated

Meryl Streep seems to be having fun these days. And, you'll have fun taking an afternoon or evening to go see It's Complicated. Streep as Jane, pairs up with Adam, played by Steve Martin, and Jake played by Alec Baldwin in this light hearted, endearing romantic comedy.

Jane seems to have the perfect life; great career, beautiful house, and three perfect children. She's an amazing cook and she's hot. She's having an affair with her ex-husband, Jake, and Adam, her architect, is pursuing her. The character is witty, loveable and Streep's facial expressions are great.

Jake is having trouble at home with his new wife, Agness, played by Lake Bell. Agness the beautiful ‘other woman' is having trouble getting pregnant; which leads to some funny infertility scenes. At times, you almost feel sorry for the blundering Jake

I especially enjoyed the scenes of Streep and her girlfriends sharing their troubles and intimate thoughts. Reminds me of my own GNO (Girls Night Out) group. I always laugh, drink too much wine, and just have a great time. One difference; Streep and her girlfriends have better one-liners.

Harley, Streep's soon to be son-in-law, played by John Krasinski from The Office, is a hoot. He's a little goofy, loveable and helps hold the story together.

Leave the kids at home (they won't appreciate the humor), but grab your significant other. I dragged my husband to see It's Complicated and I caught him laughing several times. The good news - laughing is good for you - you'll leave this movie in a great mood!
