It's a Wrap!

Thank you to everyone who participated in voting in our little black dress challenge. Although it seemed a test of the strength of our closets at times, it was fun putting together 31 different looks with our black dresses. Some of us were surprised to find that we even had 31 different looks! Of course, we were saved by Couture Days. Thanks to all the store staff who helped us with those looks.  We had a blast. And, finally, thanks to all our family and friends who foresaw the dilemma inherent in a couple of our closets and brought over bags of accessories to aid us in our 31 days of styling the LBD.

Tamara:  For me it was enlightening to see how others accessorized us!  I wonder, do they really see us this way? Me: rocker chick? Really? We keep being asked if we will be excited to put something else on come December 1st. I thought this month went by really fast, and I was able to wear my dress in many settings, from warm to cold days, casual to cocktail, errand days to travel days. I even have more ideas. But, all that being said, I think I'll put the dress away for a few months!

Judy:  This has been lots of fun. I love the way so many people got engaged in the project. Everywhere I went someone would stop and ask if I had the dress on. I always had the dress on! And it's a measure of the chameleon-like powers of the dress that anyone would have to ask. It dressed up with heels and nice jewelry and down with jeans and leggings. That kind of flexibility really works for me. The most fun was when the four of us went out together and people could see how incredibly different the dress looked on each of us.

Harriet: The dress challenge has been an interesting journey. I enjoy styling clothes of any kind since it has been my business for 25 years and I still love it! I discovered that I prefer sharing styling inspirations in ways that are non competitive. It's nice that our readers enjoyed the daily ritual. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives.

Karla:  I enjoyed the possibilities that this challenge presented.  I looked at everything in my closet with a new eye.  In the quest to create 31 unique outfits with the LBD as the blank canvas I had to take some risks and move out of my comfort zone.  It was a fun and enlightening experiment.  I have a new found respect for The Little Black dress.
