Neighborhood Banking
In January, Comerica opened its new Preston Center Banking Center location. We're very proud to be a part of the neighborhood and look forward to a strong community partnership. Comerica has been in business for over 160 years and our client relationships have been a vital part of our success. And this is what separates Comerica from other banks; we focus on building relationships and becoming a trusted advisor.
A great example of who we are is our relationship with Good News Girlz. As I learned more about GNG, not only did I want to be part of this group of highly motivated, energetic women, we both realized that we could make a difference on a business level.
At the Fashion, Finances, and Fun event we held at the bank March 25, I shared a personal story about finance. My husband and I are both finance majors and work in the field. It took a personal challenge for us to realize how important it is to be informed and educated about your finances. Don't let life get in the way
- Do you know your current passwords? Passwords expire so it's important to communicate with each other!
- Do you know how to access your statements on line? As we try to be environmentally sensitive and turn to electronic statements - it's important to tell your spouse which web sites you're using.
- Do you know how to access your spouse's 401k? Insurance? You should have a contact person/number at their company to help you along the process.
- Do you know how to access your stock portfolio - it's not enough to know the value-- can you navigate your portfolio on line?
- Are you using debt efficiently? Are you taking advantage of the lowest rates since WWII?
- If you and your spouse are both unable to access your account, do you have options? Account styling can help your beneficiaries manage the process with less headache and stress. If you leave children or others who will need immediate access to funds, they can be added to your accounts as Payable On Death beneficiaries.
- Do you have phone numbers to all your financial contacts from benefits to insurance? In times of stress, trying to find this information creates additional challenges.
I hope my story helps you to start asking questions, and we at Comerica would love the opportunity to help guide you through this process.
