at the movies
Summer is generally a time when many movies are released. This year, I’ve put together a short list of movies that sound intriguing from what I’ve seen in the previews. Feel free to add any that you’re dying to see by leaving a comment! Movies listed in order of release date. 1. Robin Hood- Another Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe collaboration that is sure to please. I’m excited to see this summer’s version of the classic tale that hits theaters May 14th.

2. Solitary Man- Starring Michael Douglas, Mary-Louise Parker, Susan Sarandon, and Danny Devito, this comedy-drama about an aging man trying to turn his life around after years of infidelity is quite intriguing and seems to be more than your average Friday night flick. Starts May 21st.

3. Sex and the City 2- Not excited about this, but I've listed it to be informative more than anything else. I’m still not sure why the first one was three hours long. I’ll wait until DVD or HBO for this one, but if you’re a die-hard fan of the series, the sequel is due out May 27th.

4. Killers- In this comedy, Katherine Heigl falls for the man of her dreams, Ashton Kutcher, only to find out that he is involved in some sort of deadly business. Sounds like a decently mindless summer comedy to check out in June.

5. Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky- A biopic about the passionate love affair between the two famed artists, fashion designer Coco Chanel and composer Igor Stravinsky. Due June 11th.

6. Wild Grass- A French film from renowned filmmaker Alain Resnais based on the dramatic tale of unrequited love from the novel by Christian Gailly. The film has already won a prize at Cannes and has received many positive reviews. Due out June 25th.

7. The Kids are All Right- A comedy about two kids who have been raised by lesbian moms Annette Benning and Julianne Moore. After meeting their biological father, sperm donor Mark Ruffalo, funny yet heartfelt moments are sure to follow. July 7th.

8. Inception- This is probably the movie I’m most looking forward to. It’s a mind-bending thriller from director Christopher Nolan (The Dark Night) starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The previews are pretty mysterious, but enough to drive me to the box office. Starts July 16th.

9. Salt- a CIA agent played by Angelina Jolie is accused of being a Russian spy. She goes on the run to defend herself in this suspense thriller that comes out July 23rd.

10. Dinner for Schmucks- Steve Carrell plays an aptly named hapless schmuck who Paul Rudd exploits in this seemingly funny comedy. July 23rd.
